Why is it important to insure the cargo?

Usually the carrier is responsible for the cargo when it's in his hands. But carrier's responsibility is limited and regulated by International Conventions. So not always full value is compensated when cargo is damaged or lost (e.g. air freight - 20USD/kg, sea freight - 5USD/kg , road freight - 10 USD/kg).
